Interview with Anthony Gomes - Electric Field Holler

Hosted by: LouLombardi aka "Loudini"
Title: Interview with Anthony Gomes - Electric Field Holler
Time: 10/27/2015 10:00 PM EDT
Episode Notes: Anthony Gomes, #1 Billboard Blues Artist, is a triple threat force as a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. Blues Music Magazine's editor recently declared that, "Gomes' formidable guitar chops and authentic singing place him in the forefront of modern blues."  This, along with his high-energy shows and dynamic stage presence, make him one of the top draws on the Rock/Blues circuit today. Gomes has headlined concerts in 17 countries and has had the honor of sharing the stage with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Joe Bonamassa, Heart, Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Word of Gomes' electrifying performances has reached Eric Clapton, Morgan Freeman, John Goodman, Toby Keith, Jonny Lang, Ron White and Vince Vaughn who have all attended Gomes' concerts.

After experiencing Gomes live, John Goodman referred to him as "a pure soul brother" and comedian Ron White declared his official endorsement of Anthony Gomes. Perhaps the greatest complement was offered by Morgan Freeman who jokingly professed that Anthony was, not bad for a white boy.

JULIE ANDREWS VS. THE BEATLES...DEATH MATCH!

Hosted by: LouLombardi aka "Loudini" and Kevin O'Connor
Title: Julie Andrews VS. The Beatles...DEATH MATCH!
Time: 10/19/2015 07:00 PM EDT

Episode Notes: On this day in music The sound of music kicked SGT. Pepper's off the number one spot. Plus music by Donica Knight, Dave Weld, Dixie Duncan, The Dirty Streets

A Montgomery, Alabama native, Knight has just begun to scratch the surface in Nashville. As she might tell you, she is still in the top of the first inning of her career. But what a ride her fans are in for! Shadowing Knight for a day would shed light on how talented and devoted an artist she is – quite honestly one of the hardest working people out there. Along with her tireless drive to perfect her craft, Knight’s distinctive voice is a breath of fresh air in the country format.

Donica Knight’s music inspires the soul, invigorates the mind and encompasses an undying passion for the art itself.

Born in Chicago in 1952, Dave was first influenced as a child when he found an old Victrola in the basement and wore out the blues 78's. In high school the Stones, Clapton and Mayall first came out but Dave traded those records for Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin Hopkins, and BB King.

After high school Weld moved to New Mexico, and studied guitar under Kurt Black, a jazz player who worked with Benny Carter, Grant Green and others in the New York jazz scene. Also he drove to Nevada and met and jammed with Gatemouth Brown.

Dave's first band! Hound Dog Taylor's group of Brewer Philips and Ted Harvey. They had been working with JB Hutto after Hound Dog's death, and after they came back from breaking iff with JB in Boston, they had a little house gig at Sweet Pea's. Weld joined the band and played with them for a year.

Brewer Philip and Ted Harvey are well known because their music started Alligator Records, the world largest blues label. Brewer learned from Memphis Minnie, one of the most famous women in blues history! Their recordings and tours with Hound Dog over 16 years signaled an increase in popularity of the blues in middle class America.
Dave found out the West side of Chicago in the black hood was friendlier than the North side, and started sitting in at clubs, and landed a gig with Hound Dog Taylor's band, Brewer Phillips, Ted Harvey, at Sweet Peas on 43rd St. While there a year, there were shake dancers and fistfights. The gig ended when Brewer was stabbed in the throat by his wife, but they reconciled.

The Dirty Streets are a young band from the Memphis area who have no fear of bathing in their proto-punk and soul roots. Their album Blades of Grass is an obvious product of digging on the likes of MC5, Rolling Stones, James Brown, Cactus, Humble Pie & the Faces.
Formed by Thomas Storz (bass, percussion), Justin Toland (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Andrew Denham (drums, percussion), and originally from Mississippi, the power trio Dirty Streets now calls Memphis home. That's where they recorded their new album "Blades Of Grass," at the legendary Ardent studio, under the guidance of sound engineer Adam Hill. The core trio also enlisted the talents of Lucero's Rick Steff on keys for this effort.
"Blades Of Grass" is heavy music bathed in blues, folk and psychedelia, with chops to spare and a working class point of view. The band already has two independent releases under their belt, including an album with renown Memphis producer Doug Easley, and has toured extensively in the Southeast, with a couple of East Coast runs, and an eight week U.S. tour with Radio Moscow.

Dixie Duncan is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Atlanta, Georgia. Dixie is also currently involved in a band called The Dreaded Marco

Interview with Dave Weld

Hosted by: LouLombardi aka "Loudini"
Title: Interview with Dave Weld
Time: 10/14/2015 06:30 PM EDT

Episode Notes: Dave started "Dave Weld and the Imperial Flames" in 1988 with Little Ed's Blessing and they came out with their first CD "Roughrockin' in Chicago", on Parsifal Records in Belgium, and Dave toured Europe, Canada and Japan with his own band.

Their recordings and tours with Hound Dog over 16 years signaled an increase in popularity of the blues in middle class America.

player who worked with Benny Carter, Grant Green and others in the New York jazz scene. Also he drove to Nevada and met and jammed with Gatemouth Brown.

Weld bought Hound Dog Taylor's first Alligator album, heard Howlin Wolf over the radio in the desert one night, packed up and drove back home in his 67' Ford, and made it with $10 to spare.
The Garfield, at Homan and Madison was right around the corner from Ed's house and featured Little Wolf, Hound Dog, and Little Ed's band stayed there about a year. Ted Harvey, at Sweet Peas on 43rd St. While there a year, there were shake dancers and fistfights. The gig ended when Brewer was stabbed in the throat by his wife, but they reconciled.
Weld then moved to the 1815 Club on W. Roosevelt, owned and operated by Eddie Shaw who had Howlin Wolfs band, the Wolf Pack. Dave stayed there and played in the band with Chico Chism, Lafayette Gilbert, Hubert Sumlin, Detroit Junior, and Eddie Shaw. The going rate was $15 per night, but Dave played there with Otis Rush, Maxwell St. Jimmy, Guitar Junior, Jew Town Burks, Doug Macdonald, Boston Blackie, Tail Dragger, Little Wolf, Big Bad Ben, Little Aurthur, Johnny Littlejohn and more. The gig ended when the band was taken to the Maxwell St. lockup because of the nude dancers. Shaw bailed them out.
During this time Weld was under tutelage from JB Hutto, a Grammy awarded Blues Hall of Fame slide man from Georgia. He studied at JB's house for three years  until JB introduced Dave to his nephews, Little Ed and James Young. They started the band "Little Ed and the Blues Imperials" and played every joint in the West side for ten years.  Necktie Nates at W Roosevelt was a hotbed of blues and Little Ed and the Blues Imperials stayed there a year, during which Buster Benton came in to play quite a bit. The gig ended when Nate insulted Pookie's aunt and James jumped down off the stage to give Nate quite a lesson in manners. About $15 a night, until Bruce Igauer from Alligator recorded them in a historic session "Roughousin'" and they started world tours
Dave started "Dave Weld and the Imperial Flames" in 1988 with Little Ed's Blessing and they came out with their first CD "Roughrockin' in Chicago", on Parsifal Records in Belgium, and Dave toured Europe, Canada and Japan with his own band.
Little Ed joined Dave's band twice for two years each time and the second time they recorded for Earwig Music, "Keep on Walkin'", and this brought them overseas again, as well as local, regional, and national gigs. When Ed went back to his band he was replaced by the great Abb Locke, legndary sax man who is in the band today with Jeff Taylor and Herman Applewhite. They continue working every week since the band was formed in 1988, and Dave made his first UK tour in 2005, with the second to closing slot at the Maryport Blues Festival, going full circle by opening up for Hubert Sumlin and the Legendary Blues Band!

Don't Embarrass Yourself or Your Audience. ALWAYS be PRO!

Hosted by: LouLombardi aka "Loudini" and Kevin O'Connor
Title: Don't Embarrass Yourself or Your Audience. ALWAYS be PRO!
Time: 10/12/2015 07:00 PM EDT

Episode Notes: Kevin and Lou discuss the importance of professionalism... shout outs to John Denver, Glenn Campbell, The Bay City Rollers... also... this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees. Plus featured music by Billy the Kid and the Regulators, Mick Kolassa, Deb Callahan, The Sheepdogs, and the Beat Daddys

Trends come and go, styles fall in and out of fashion, but The Sheepdogs remain steadfast in their commitment to rock n’ roll excellence. Since their inception, the band has always sought to play the kind of music they themselves love: “Pure, simple, good-time music,” as singer/guitarist Ewan Currie puts it. It’s no surprise, then, that the band’s fifth LP, Future Nostalgia, is firmly rooted in the rock tradition that listeners have come to expect from the boys.

The idea was simple: find a nice, quiet, secluded place and make a record packed with all the hot guitar licks and sing-along choruses they could muster. So the band holed up in a rented house in the remote, idyllic setting of Stony Lake, Ontario, and set about creating a studio where they could work all hours of the day. “We wanted to cut out all the noise and get back to a place where we could just fully immerse ourselves in music,” says Currie, who took on production duties for the album. “We worked hard, but we also made sure to keep it loose and have ourselves a good time.”

Future Nostalgia is the middle ground between the JUNO-winning, platinum-certified Learn & Burn, which spawned the rock radio staple “I Don’t Know,” and its equally successful follow-up, 2012’s The Sheepdogs, featuring the instantly-recognizable, Gold-certified singles “Feeling Good” and “The Way It Is.”

The former was recorded by Currie and the band in their hometown of Saskatoon before they were propelled to fame as the first unsigned band to grace the cover of Rolling Stone, pressure free and at their own pace. Its follow-up, however, recorded in Nashville with producer and Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney, was a much more formal and rigid studio experience. This time, the band aimed to combine the successes and lessons learned from these opposite ends of the recording spectrum.

Future Nostalgia builds upon The Sheepdogs’ foundation of feel-good vocal harmonizing and nasty guitar jamming. “Our musical journey has been about trying to find how we sound our best,” states Currie, and the album represents the pinnacle of their progress thus far. That’s made immediately clear from the opening riff of “Downtown,” an undeniable straight-up rocker that sparkles with the warmth of summer. Down at the other end of the street is “Bad Lieutenant,” which walks a dark and sexy strut courtesy of bassist Ryan Gullen and drummer Sam Corbett, who also tear up the furious “I Really Wanna Be Your Man.”

Newcomers Rusty Matyas and Ewan’s brother Shamus Currie, on guitar and keys respectively, bring a new spirit to the wistful back porch vibes of “Same Old Feeling” or the brooding melancholy of “Jim Gordon.” Elsewhere, the ominous groove of “Help Us All” calls to mind the bleak violence of Blood Meridian as sung by Sly & the Family Stone, punctuated by a devastating trombone solo from Shamus.

Now, The Sheepdogs are eager to embark on the next leg of their journey, which will involve many miles logged and stages played. “I’m excited for people to hear the album, because it’s a labour of love,” Currie says proudly. “Now, it’s just about getting it out there and getting people into it.”

From their cramped Saskatchewan jam space to gold and platinum records and shows with rock icons, The Sheepdogs haven’t strayed from their goal of sharing pure, passionate rock n’ roll with anyone who’ll listen – and Future Nostalgia is packed with it.

I’m Mick Kolassa, also known as Michissippi Mick.  I am a lifelong musician and hardcore blues fan who also happens to be on the Board of Directors of the Blues Foundation.  My love of the blues began 50 years ago and with this and my previous album I am able to share that love with you. You can see that I love all styles of blues, and I also love to find the blues song hidden in tunes that most people wouldn’t think of as blues.  I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together.

Billy the Kid and the Regulators continue to write music, and perform cooking up their brand of blues with soul being the main ingredient.

Philadelphia’s blues and soul drenched vocalist and songwriter Deb Callahan grew up in the Boston area but has been a mainstay on the mid-Atlantic music scene since the late 90’s.  During this time she has gained a reputation for writing creative blues, soul and roots influenced original music and using her powerful, expressive voice to deliver an exciting live show. Her 2002 debut CD “If the Blues Had Wings” was featured as the hot debut in the October/November 2004 issue of Blues Revue Magazine.  Blues Revue referred to her as the next Bonnie Raitt and raved “Philly’s Deb Callahan has the pipes, the songs and the raw talent to graduate to the next level”.

Deb releases her 5th CD “Sweet Soul” Sept 1, 2015 on Blue Pearl Records. The CD, produced by renowned producer and drummer Tony Braunagel, was recorded at Ultratone Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Deb and guitar player Allen James  travelled to Los Angeles in February 2015 to record the tracks with an all star studio line-up including Johnny Lee Schell, engineering and slide guitar, Mike Finnigan on keyboards, Reggie McBride on bass, Braunagel on drums and James on guitar. This group of LA musicians have recorded and toured with performers such as Etta James, Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal so it was a truly wonderful experience to play with and learn from each one.

It’s been almost 5 years since Deb’s last CD, “Tell It Like It Is” was released. Shortly after this release, Deb became a mom to her now 4 year old son Elijah. The experience of being a new mom has had a direct impact on her writing and focus in her life. The songs from “Sweet Soul” were written during an overall sweet and rich phase of life. Deb worked with James and Chris Arms (who produced Deb’s last 3 CD’s) to write the original material and with producer Braunagel to find some gems written by others that fit the vibe as well. The mood of this blues, soul, roots CD is upbeat, rockin, funky and fun and explores the theme of love and family with an honest and at times humorous view into both its joys and challenges. This includes the experience of loving a child or partner, the connection and sweetness you feel when you slow down and just be present with ones you love, the pain and difficulty of letting go of a family member, the ups and downs of living with someone, the inner tension about balancing family and career, the energy it takes to keep things running to do a lot of different things in life.

Doing  social work in the heart of Philadelphia would be a good place to learn  about life’s hard knocks and this urban school ground taught  singer/songwriter Deb Callahan well.   Her rich, honest and soulful tunes resonate with listeners and run the gamut from soulful ballads, to upbeat, dance oriented grooves.  Her road tested band includes Allen James, Garry Lee and Tom Walling.  Deb is working on her 5th CD which she is hoping to release sometime in 2014.

Interview with The Beat Daddys

Here's the LATEST on the Loudini Rock and Roll Circus
Interview Edition
Interview with The Beat Daddys
Hosted by: LouLombardi aka Loudini
Time: 10/08/2015 06:30 PM EDT
Episode Notes: Formed in 1986 by core members Larry Grisham and Tommy Stillwell, The Beat Daddys have spent almost 30 years bringing their blend of American roots music to audiences around the world. With nine international CD releases, several film & TV soundtrack credits, and countless shows in the US and abroad, The Beat Daddys are a duo with authentic American roots. Coming of age in rural Kentucky where the nearest interstate highway was 100 miles away, Tommy Stillwell and Larry Grisham's musical journey was shaped by their families and the deep music traditions of Kentucky and the South.

www.podcast.loudinirockandrollcircus.com

Grisham, who can claim country music icon Merle Travis as a family member, spent his early years in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Muhlenberg County has a rich history of musical legends, not only Travis, but the Everly Brothers and thumb picking legend Mose Rager . During these years, Larry was immersed in fiddle, harp and guitar playing sessions that took place in his family’s living room. On a donated piano from a local church, Grisham began his music journey. Grisham’s gospel music loving grandfather was not happy with his loud rock and roll playing. Enraged, he pushed the piano out of the house into the front yard and set it a fire. But Grisham’s musical path didn’t end with the piano going up in flames.

In the Ohio River town of Cloverport, Kentucky, Tommy Stillwell’s introduction to the power of music came in the form of Pentacostal tent revivals and churches. Performing at the age of 8 as the drummer for the preacher’s gospel band, Stillwell experienced music’s emotional power early in his life. During these soul-stirring services, Stillwell studied the guitar playing preacher and quickly emulated the strumming and fingering of the chords the preacher made. “Still know that first song I copied from him today, ‘He’s All I Need,” says Stillwell.
“Searing guitar, wailing harmonica and undeniable vocal power”.

The year was 1970. With Grisham’s family situation always in flux, he headed to Cloverport with a foster family. In one of the most Kentuckian of places, the basketball court, Grisham and Stillwell met. Connecting immediately on their enthusiasm for music, especially the British Invasion, the duo began their long musical collaboration. After several years of the standard high school, community events and early club gigs, Grisham and Stillwell decided to pursue different paths and ended their first musical endeavor.

The duo’s next collaboration, an 80’s power pop band The Phonz(pronounced phones) began their productive song writing partnership. After a successful EP and a hand full of 45s, much sought after in the Japanese Power Pop collector’s culture, an epiphany occurred. After always including chestnuts from the Yardbirds, Kinks, Stones, and Animals in The Phonz set list, they reexamined their initial passions, the British Invasion, which led back to Muddy, the Wolf, and the Kings, Feddie, Albert and B.B. Dissolving The Phonz and creating The Beat Daddys, the duo began exploring American Blues and all the regional variations: Texas Blues, Memphis R&B, Chicago, and Muscle Shoals.

After releasing a self-titled disc in 1990 featuring 14 tracks of Grisham and Stillwell compositions, the duo embarked on an extensive tour of Asia. Upon their return, a tour of the South brought them to a lunch stop at a popular Jackson, MS barbecue joint that offered live Blues on the weekends. Unbeknownst to Grisham and Stillwell, the restaurant was owned by executives from Malaco Records, a world class label in the Blues and Gospel music recording industry. Leaving a complimentary copy of their self-titled disc in hopes of possibly securing a venue to play, led to a recording contract with Malaco Music Group.

They were signed to Malaco subsidiary Waldoxy Records in 1992. Heading to the famous Muscle Shoals studio, two CDs were recorded and released on the Waldoxy label: No, We Ain’t From Clarksdale in 1992 and with famed Muscle Shoals’ Swampers, South To Mississippi in 1994. During that time, the pair also appeared on Z Zelebration a compilation disc celebrating the life and songs of Malaco artist the late ZZ Hill.

The experience of the Muscle Shoals recordings were rewarding, but creative and directional differences led to Stillwell’s departure in 1995 and he did not return until 2007.

Stillwell, remaining in the Evansville, Indiana area, began recording, performing and leading several combos. Most notably he lead Stillwell-Rodenberg & Co. which had two CDs released and appeared on the PBS national broadcast of Jubilee, featuring their performance at the W.C. Handy festival.

Grisham relocated further South, first to Jackson, MS then to the Gulf Coast region. Living and exploring the musical heritage of the region, he formed a new line-up consisting of players predominantly from the Gulf Coast area. Most notably: Britt Meacham of Muscle Shoals recording fame, Lewis Ross drummer for the group Wet Willie, and Johnny Neel formerly of The Allman Brothers Band.

During that time the group recorded and released four CDs: The Beat Daddys Live, Delta Vision, 5 Moons, and Root Rubbin’ Ball. 5 Moons earned the distinction of being named among the top 5 self produced CDs in the International Blues Challenge in 2008. The group also toured extensively in both Asia and Europe.

Disaster struck Grisham in 2005. Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast destroying all of Grisham’s possessions. Relocating to Nashville, TN, Grisham and Stillwell renewed their collaboration with a renewed passion and energy.

Releasing the live set Live at the Quincy Blues Festival in 2007, the duo began writing and touring, sharing the stage with many blues and rock Hall of Famers.

2014 began a turning point for Grisham and Stillwell. Winning the Kentuckiana Blues Society’s IBC band competition, the group earned a trip to compete in Memphis. Emerging from the hotly contested IBC band competition as a semi-finalist, The Beat Daddys focused on production of hoodoo that we doo. Grisham and Stillwell created an eclectic set of songs drawing on a lifetime of musical collaboration. Combining blues, rhythm & blues, gospel and touches of rock, hoodoo that we doo is the consummate American roots music record. “These Chains” is a gospel shouter that releases the soul, “The Moment” is a reflective ballad of the instance love is lost and “I Need A Woman” is a blues stomper of an empty hearted man.

While they cover a lot of musical ground, there is still the common thread that binds their music together. Rooted in the Blues with a dash of Southern Rock and old school R&B, it is undeniably The Beat Daddys.

Tribute to Spinal Tap!

Here's the LATEST on the Loudini Rock and Roll Circus!
Hosted by: LouLombardi aka Loudini and Kevin O'Connor
Title: Tribute to Spinal Tap!
Time: 10/02/2015 07:00 PM EDT
Episode Notes: Lou and Kevin pay tribute to the greatest "rockumentary" of ALL TIME... "THis is Spinal Tap!" Birthday shout outs to Sting and Tiffany. Plus music by Steve Cal', The Delaneys, Silk9, The Turbosonics, and ALBUM!

When I began building this site, I thought it would take a few hours of probing, hunting, gathering, and collating. As with so many expectations about the heavy metal band known the world warmed over as Spinal Tap, I was wrong. It took hours upon hours, days upon days, cold beers upon cold beers. In the end, I found myself with little more understanding of the phenomenon known as Tapmania or the Tapheads who are caught up in it — only a sickening sense that I had wasted several months of my quickly shortening life on a band whose only distinction is that they play loud and their lyrics sometimes rhyme. More significantly, perhaps, is that with each passing year, more of Tap's fans are learning to read. Thus this site.
What I hoped to do was document every ounce of creative energy and tension that Tap has inspired in its fans and other bands (none of whom you've heard of or, perhaps, even exist). My friends, after viewing the 40,000-word draft of the A to Zed guide and literally wiping the glaze from their eyes, accused me of being anal-retentive about Tap. No, I replied, I am anal-inventive.
Nigel TufnelI'm not alone in my appreciation for the English rockers that dedicated fans know simply as "them guys." Marty DiBergi's well-received documentary about the band's 1982 U.S. tour inspired widespread interest in Tap, whose fortunes were sagging. As the New York Times noted during the band's 1992 Break Like the Wind tour, "the impact of This is Spinal Tap cannot be underestimated. Fans can recite scenes verbatim. Phrases such as 'It's such a fine line between clever and stupid' [sic] have become part of the rock vocabulary. Songs from the movie are considered classics." Rolling Stone, on the other hand, once described Tap's music as "simple and brainless." So opinions vary.

Steve Cal' is a blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Philadelphia, PA. He first picked up the guitar at age eight after hearing Santana's instrumental Samba Pa Ti and started performing professionally with a band at fourteen years old covering songs by groups such as Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and The Doors. Cal' was first introduced to the blues after hearing B.B. King's The 'Thrill Is Gone.' He has also stated that the album 'Muddy Mississippi Waters Live' was another inspiring introduction to blues music.

In 2013 he released his debut album with his band, The Steve Cal' Band. The album primarily consists of original songs written by Cal'.

The Steve Cal' Band was a top winner of the 2013 Beta Hi-Fi Emerging Music Festival at World Café Live, which highlighted the finest emerging songwriters in the region.

Blues Rock Review has included one of the band's songs on their Volume 4 Sampler CD which features the best up and coming blues rock artist in the country

The Delaneys are currently promoting their 4th studio album titled Bullfighter - released digitally on 10.23.14 and available 11.22.14 through cdbaby and amazon. The album was produced & recorded by Rick Witkowski (B.E. Taylor, Crack the Sky) @ Studio L, Weirton, WV and mixed & mastered by Joe West (Toby Keith, Jimmy Wayne, Keith Urban) @ Gasoline Inc., Franklin, TN.

The group has been performing and entertaining crowds in and around the Pittsburgh area for the past 17 years. Influenced by a variety of musical tastes - elements of Beatle-esque harmonies, Foo Fighters consistency, and “face-melting” guitar solos make up The Delaneys’ sound. This group always delivers with a high-octane stage performance simply described as: Rock. Roll.

Proud of their city’s sports tradition, you can often catch a Delaneys set during various Steelers, Pirates, or Penguins pre-game festivities at their respective stadiums. They have been honored to work with various hometown athletes on fundraisers in conjunction with local charities especially: Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Operation Troop Appreciation.

Silk9 is a Pittsburgh PA based hard rock band that was founded in April of 2013 by Anthony
Leone and Jamie Rohr.
The" vision" of Silk9 was to "embrace" the essence of the 90’s and add an original spin
on today’s hard rock genre.
In May of 2014 the band released its first EP entitled “Exit the Pain.” Songs from the EP have
been featured on 97.7 fm located in Butler PA, Adrenaline 101 internet radio, 105.9 fm the X, in
Pittsburgh PA., 102.5 WDVE in Pittsburgh PA, ThePAROCKSHOW.COM, The EAgle 107.5 and recently featured on Lou Lombardi's, Rock n' Roll Circus.
We strive to keep our standards high by working with some of the top local bands in the area and national acts such as Lynch Mob,
Adelitas Way, The Art of Dying, Hillbilly Herald, Drowning Pool, Crobot,Skid Row and on most recently Jake E Lee's Red Dragon's Cartel

The Turbosonics is a three piece instrumental surf-rock band based in Pittsburgh, PA. Turbosonics play original instrumentals, traditional surf music (Dick Dale, Link Wray, The Surfaris, The Ventures, etc.), and a few from bands like the Pixies, Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet and The Propellerheads.

Check out a show, you will not be disappointed!

Thousands of years after the annals of prehistory closed, man has fashioned sound as terrible as exploding stars. Gods will tremble at the sonic slaughter unleashed by our races hands. Music is humanities calling card to the universe and its’ message is clear: “Beware the might of man.”

Since man awakened from his primordial slumber, he has sought to harness the essence of life through sound. The rumble of earth, scream of storm and call of the predator. Man offers his music to the heavens in awe, anguish and anger hoping his place in existence be remembered by all things.

Deep in the foothills of the ancient Appalachians lies the tiny crossroads of Rogers. There, the last vestiges of somber, proud hill–folk wax into legacy and wilderness swallows ancestral lands back into inhuman mystery. It is amongst this quiet and isolated realm that a thunder summoned from an age forgotten, heralds a new dawning for the music of man. That thunder is named ALBUM.

Interview with Deb Callahan

Here's the LATEST on the Loudini Rock and Roll Circus
Interview Edition
Hosted by LouLombardi aka "Loudini"
Interview with Deb Callahan

www.loudinirockandrollcircus.com/episodes

Shortly after this release, Deb became a mom to her now 4 year old son
Elijah. The experience of being a new mom has had a direct impact on her writing and focus in her life. The songs from “Sweet Soul” were written
during an overall sweet and rich phase of life. Deb worked with James and Chris Arms (who produced Deb’s last 3 CD’s) to write the original material
and with producer Braunagel to find some gems written by others that fit the vibe as well. The mood of this blues, soul, roots CD is upbeat, rockin,
funky and fun and explores the theme of love and family with an honest and at times humorous view into both its joys and challenges. This includes the
experience of loving a child or partner, the connection and sweetness you feel when you slow down and just be present with ones you love, the pain
and difficulty of letting go of a family member, the ups and downs of living with someone, the inner tension about balancing family and career, the
energy it takes to keep things running to do a lot of different things in life.
