Jamming leads to friendships and even more jamming for Shaman Elect

Tight grooves, crisp tones, emotive lyrics, waves of mood oriented improvisation.
Shaman Elect was born inside warehouses turned art studios in Brooklyn, NY. It started as a fusion of styles between Ethan Warshowsky(synths, vocals) and Fredy Garcia (guitar, vocals). Together, they began developing each other’s songs by combining elements of jazz, rock, and electronica.
In early 2017, leading up to their first live performance, Mike Malkowski (drums, vocals) joined the group, contributing his inventive and dynamic drumming. Expressive singer, Sarah Warshowsky (lead vocals) became the group’s frontwoman.

After a series of successful performances in New York City, the band entered the studio to work on their debut full-length album, Mind the Ether.
A distinct fusion of styles, the album captures the diverse musical backgrounds of its creators, ranging from the pulsating and brooding qualities of electronic music (“Woman in Black”) to the groove based improvisational nature of modern psychedelic rock (“Hugo of Bath”). Rich with captivating rhythms and inspired performances, Mind the Ether will in no doubt elicit physical movement and raw emotion from its listeners.
Thematically, the album utilizes sonic imagery to tell the story of the human condition. The “Intro” track establishes the unmistakable psychedelic mood of the album by placeing the listener in a mysterious forest greeted by a sage.  We are warmly welcomed to sit by a crackling fire and invited to listen.

What follows is an emotional journey with peaks of euphoria and troughs of desolation and rage.

Neil and Bee find eachother in the classifieds and end up making great guitar pop together

Based in London, Neil Fitzsimon and Bee Brogan aim to produce “pure pop for now people.” Neil and Bee were both members of the band, Pretty Blue Gun, who were signed to an indie label, licensed to Sony. They released two albums which were critically acclaimed. Some of the guest musicians included members of The Art of Noise, Dave Bronze (Eric Clapton’s bass player), Tobias Boshell (Moody Blues) and Pip Williams, who played guitar on the Walker Brothers’ track, ‘No Regrets’. The albums were produced by Pat Collier, who produced Katrina and the Waves’ international hit, ‘Walking on Sunshine’. The band went on national tours across the UK, until disbanding.

Neil Fitzsimon, the songwriter, and Bee Brogan, the vocalist, then went on to form a songwriting/production partnership that led to placement of their songs in Film and TV. They also wrote a musical, Jack Dagger, which was showcased at the Greenwich Theatre, London for the Musical Futures Award. It was also showcased at the Bridewell and the Royal College of Music in London. They have also just had a song placed in a USA Sci-Fi Feature film. They recently had a track reach number 3 in a French national download chart.

All songs are written by Neil Fitzsimon. Vocals, keyboards, drums and engineering by Bee Brogan. All guitars played by Neil Fitzsimon.

Fitzsimon and Brogan see themselves as a studio act much in the vein of Tin Tin Out and Talk Talk. Their influences range from The Beatles, Elvis Costello, Jimmy Webb, Jacques Brel and David Bowie.

New album, “Big Blue World” is due for release in June, with another scheduled for fall 2018 release.

Joél Hernandez Reinvents Guitar Driven Pop

Prodigiously gifted singer, songwriter and guitarist Joel Hernandez is just 20, but the pop-rock wunderkind has already absorbed a lifetime of music. Growing up in El Campo, Texas, he soaked up the region’s diverse soundscapes. Through his multi-generational musician family, he learned how to be a thoughtful and emotive songwriter. Joel’s debut is rife with standout tracks. On the bluesy pop rocker “So Young,” he shares a wise-beyond-his-years perspective on young relationships. “That’s about living in the moment with the people in your life because, as bitter sweet as it is, you know they’ll leave your orbit soon,” Joel says. The amorous “It’s Only You” smoothly melds urban pop to atmospheric rock.

The after-the-love-is-gone ballad “Where Are You Now?” tugs at your heartstrings and sticks in your ears like a Top 40 hit from the future. The anthemic “Spirit Of Summer” celebrates being young with irresistible pop-rock hooks and undeniable melodies. Joel showcases his bluesy roots on “Can’t Get Through” which boasts a sleek pop chorus a la John Mayer. “The album reflects all the different styles of music I grew up with. Back home, you could go out any night of the week and catch two-step music, blues, hard rock, salsa, and Tejano. All these flavors shaped me, and that’s the diversity I wanted to share on my album,” Joel says. This is Joel’s first foray in the pop-rock arena, and he’s doing it with an album of flair, dimension and depth. Joel reflects on this milestone saying: “This is a big step to a career in music, and I’m so excited to get out there and share this album with everyone. It feels like this has been a lifetime in the making.”

Joseph Eid defied his parents, and the odds to follow his Passion for Music

Since the release of his Human LP, Folk-Pop artist Joseph Eid has been garnering considerable buzz. He has been featured in American Songwriter Magazine’s “Best New Music” column and was named as one of the 100 Hottest Live Unsigned Artists by Music Connection Magazine.  The magazine has also reviewed his latest EP release “Watch It Fall” and described him as “an engaging storyteller (a la Jason Mraz) with a keen eye for character.” His song “It’s Only Love” is in a new Universal studios film starring Sharon Stone called “All I Wish.”

Joseph Eid has been writing poetry and dreaming of a career in the arts as long as he can remember. He grew up mostly in the suburbs of New York.  Raised in a strict and traditional home, the arts were only supported as a hobby and never as a career.  During his college years, Eid studied psychology and pre-med.  After his first semester at med school, his dream got too big to hold and Eid made the bold choice of dropping out to move to New York City to pursue music.

While in New York, Joseph Eid picked up a guitar, joined a band, and the songs poured out of him like rain.  His journey then led to Los Angeles where he started playing regularly at open mic nights and showcases.  Shortly after, he began working with world-renowned guitarist/songwriter, David Lamar, honing his songwriting at weekly showcases at the Stone Bar. This lead him to write dozens of new songs as well as record a debut EP, Cardiac Output, followed by a full-length LP, Human.

Known as a dynamic solo performer, Joseph Eid has brought his one-man live show to many of Los Angeles’ premiere music venues. He has toured regionally as well as nationally and has also enjoyed playing regular house concerts and corporate events.  You can catch him every Monday at his current residency in downtown los angles at Bar Mattachine where he performs and hosts a singer songwriter showcase weekly.

Raven Black
A Dark Metal Carnival.

"Raven Black ‘Seven Sins’ – Album Review
Are you a fan of the macabre and the twisted? Do you have a fondness for the brutal and the bazaar? When you heard Darth Vader speak of going over to the dark side, did you think that sounded like a thought-provoking proposition to you? Then you my friend, may be interested in Raven Black, the uncompromising female-fronted metal band turning heads with their gritty tunes and dark carnival inspired visuals. It’s this mixture of fun and frightening that pulled me in, and it was their haunting hooks and sinister style that kept me wanting to know more about this band.

Last year, Raven Black released the EP ‘Seven Sins,’ which feature seven songs each as good as the last. “Twinkle Twinkle Little Scars,” the first track on the record, is the perfect introduction to the group thanks to its circus-themed rhythm which metal fans could liken to ‘Black Waltz’ era Avatar. To be honest, I loved every song on ‘Seven Sins,’ partially because it was as if someone took some of my favorite things, such as sideshows, Stitched Up Heart, voodoo, Daisy Chainsaw, Butcher Babies, vintage horror movies, unhinged vocals, unwielding guitars, and dominating drums, put them in a blender, and then added just enough LSD to make things totally unpredictable. Furthermore, I can feel the emotion behind the bands lyrics, such as in the song “Still Healing.” When vocalist Raven Black sings, “You let me fall. You Let Me Drown. You let me down. I’m still healing,” she doesn’t just throw those words away. They’re spoken in a way that makes them action verbs, bringing them to life. And isn’t that what we all want in our music? For it to transcend and help us to feel like we aren’t alone, even during our loneliest moments? “Damaged,” on the other hand, showcases the bands spirited sick side with rapid-fire pedals, a chugging hook, and seriously brutal vocals that prove just how hard women in metal can rock.
‘Seven Sins’ is delightfully demented, and offers just the right balance of sincerity and a band that does not take themselves too seriously. Raven Black is definitely one of those bands to watch, even if they make you feel as if you want to sleep with one eye open.

Ashley J writes songs on the walls and discovers her perfect fit

At first glance, Ashley J exudes a vivacious and seductive youthful energy that’s wrapped in her free-flowing blonde locks, natural good looks and voluptuous body frame. However, beneath her eye-pleasing visual facade, she has a fascinatingly diverse background, artistically and musically and packs a wallop of a voice that fuses an infectious blend of vocal dexterity, moods and range. She tempers her vocal prowess with poignant lyrics and a kindred soul as an emerging songwriter/singer. And it’s all aptly and full exposed on her new pop single, “Unbreakable.” The song was recorded at his famed Tarpan Studio complex in San Rafael, CA.  Laced with mid-tempo snaps, shadowy synths and soft whispers; “Trapped” highlights a deep infatuation with a new partner. Ashley’s sultry pipes gradually build.

Self-penned by Ashley J, she collaborated with UK’s established producers, Jamie Sellers and Warwick Matthews to produce this buoyant new track. The Orlando native weaves her airy and enticing vocals through dreamy piano melodies and bouncy synths. This light-hearted single takes listeners on an uplifting journey and showcases Ashley’s authentic pop style.
Ashley’s previous single “Trapped” reached #1 on the European Independent Music Charts. On a chance meeting legendary songwriter/producer and multi-platinum Grammy and Emmy winning, Narada Michael Walden Ashley produced her hit steamy single. The song was recorded at his famed Tarpan Studio complex in San Rafael, CA.  Laced with mid-tempo snaps, shadowy synths and soft whispers;
“Trapped” highlights a deep infatuation with a new partner. Ashley’s sultry pipes gradually build a gravitating tension throughout the song, until it hits the exciting and uncontrollable bridge which reveals her scintillating and broad vocal range. “Trapped” was released independently (May 2017) on Ashley J’s own production company imprint, Bombshell Music, Inc.
In fact, it has been Ashley J’s devotion to songwriting that has jettisoned and fueled the embryonic stages of her artistic career so far. As a precocious little girl, she started writing songs on her bathroom walls, much to the chagrin of her parents, who were constantly forced to repaint her lyrical scribbles. However, she proved it wasn’t just a childhood dalliance, and over the past several years she has built a catalog of over 100 songs. She’s looking to feature several more original songs on an EP project for release later this year.
“I love a lot of different styles of music,” says Ashley J, “but contemporary pop is the best genre fit for me, and I feel it allows me to have free range as a songwriter/singer.”
Last year she eased her way into the contemporary pop scene, with her debut video supported single release, “Dare Ya,” which helped to galvanize a burgeoning fan base and signaled her commitment to making pop her signature genre.
While Ashley was busy cutting her teeth as a songwriter/performer, she also managed to earn a BA degree in Business Law from University of North Texas (2015).

While initially attending University of Tulsa, she also had a brief foray in writing and recording a couple of country music tracks in Nashville. She later traveled to Los Angeles, where she wrote and recorded a couple of solo dance songs “One and One” (charted in Billboard’s Top 20 Dance Chart) and “Cali” (which reached the Top 10 on the same chart).
Ashley J grew up listening to wide range of musical genres and pop greats like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera and Michael Jackson, to legendary country stars Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton (who she cites as her all time musical hero). She attended the Dr. Phillips High School of Performing Arts in Orlando and showcased her innate singing and dancing talents performing lead roles in the schools theatre and musical productions – and was also active in her church choir and theatre productions.
Ashley J is ready to write a new chapter in her musical journey. She’s come a long way from those bathroom wall scribbles, and primed to become a revered figure in the world of pop music.

Opera singer Nadia E, Puts Her years of Training to use in the Service of Rock 'n Roll!

Nadia was born in northeastern New Jersey.  At eleven years old, her family moved to a beach community in southern California.  At her new school, Nadia was assigned choir as her elective class.  Excelling at singing, she began private lessons in opera.
Nadia had great love and appreciation for the art and technique of opera, but felt the need to explore more liberal styles of singing and performing.  At fourteen, she heard Nirvana’s ‘Bleach’ album and discovered that her heart belonged to rock ‘n’ roll.
At sixteen, Nadia went to her first rock concert at the Palladium in Los Angeles.  Enthralled by the experience, she started attending as many shows as possible.  Each show felt like a gift and her motivation to become more than an audience member grew.

Nadia’s operatic studies continued until she was nineteen, when she received an opportunity to audition for ‘The Dynamos’.  Her presentation of the material seamlessly fit the envisioned musical and lyrical content of the band.  She immediately became the lead vocalist for the project.
Nadia’s stage performance is enhanced by her rigorous fitness routine, comprised of spinning poi (the swinging of tethered weights through rhythmical and geometric patterns), weighted hula-hoop, as well as other traditional forms of exercise.  Nadia’s healthy lifestyle also includes interests in culinary arts and the creation of her own recipes.

Nadia is integral to the development and implementation of ‘The Dynamos’ brand.  Her contributions consist of makeup artistry, jewelry design, and performance wardrobe development.
