Chip DiMonick rocketed onto the Pittsburgh music scene in 2005 with its debut release "Bat An Eyelash." Right out of the gate, singer/guitarist Chip DiMonick, bassist Joe P., and their original drummer established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Pittsburgh hard rock scene. The Pittsburgh Post‐Gazette called Bat An Eyelash "the kind of record Tommy Lee would tell a girl to strip to."
The critical acclaim for Chip DiMonick's unique brand of strip‐club rock continued with their 2007 release of "Not Yet Rated." Featuring a heavy‐punk version of the Dexy's Midnight Runners' classic "Come On Eileen," the album was lauded for its "loud, audacious ‐ some would say obnoxious ‐ rock 'n' roll" by the Pittsburgh Tribune Review.
In 2009, Chip DiMonick unleashed another sonic assault with their third album, “Sick Definition of Fun.” While the songs on this album retained the explosive energy and unbridled irreverence of their first two releases, the music is heavier and darker and the lyrics stray from their party‐at‐all‐costs mantra of years past into an uncharted territory of social consciousness, taking shots at everything from the news media to the drug culture to the adult entertainment industry. The album’s first single, “Make You Famous,” received a respectable amount of airplay on Pittsburgh rock station 105.9 The X.

He has also stated that the album 'Muddy Mississippi Waters Live' was another inspiring introduction to blues music.

We Came From Space is a small collective of super hero types. We Came From Space is flesh and blood guys that do what they can to bring a little light, heat, and volume to a sometimes dark, chilly, and silent world.
Now, we here at WCFS are aware that the concept of a ‘regular’ super hero is novel and does not fit into most people’s conveniently standard way of thinking. Relax; there is no wearing of capes or leaping of tall buildings with us (but one of those underground lairs would really kick ass). We will leave that to the ‘Super’ super heroes (maybe that’s you!) that wear capes and leap tall buildings (and have totally cool underground lairs).
We Came From Space uses loud rock and roll to generate righteous vibes and good time grooves! We are free thinkers in life and stand shoulder to shoulder in the certainty that MUSIC STILL MATTERS. It’s true! Someone’s just written it.
We Came From Space doesn’t fly the flag of any particular musical genre (although the set list is REALLY light on country-opera) and are proud of the poppy, proggy, punky, rocky, songs we’ve written. Life has taught us that limitations are nothing if not ummm…. limiting. So, to that end, WCFS defies easy musical classification. If it rocks, it’s right. Nobody puts We Came From Space in a corner!! Each member contributes to the writing, arranging, and overall rocket sauce that keeps the heat on here at WCFS.
Singer, guitarist Angry Johnny Stangry has been a part of the Pittsburgh music scene for the past 17 years. Growing up in a little town of Yukon, PA. Johnny was always fascinated by the guitar from a young age. Often getting caught by his parents playing a mean air guitar, and finally at the age of 16 his dad bought him his first electric guitar (it was $10.00) he remembers his dad saying. His first official band was a little country band called "Timbreline". That's where Johnny started to develop his country guitar skills. At the age of 21, he was a Blue's Rock guitarist, no country in him then. Johnny says he was eager to learn and always been a finger picker (doesn't use a pick). So it was easy for him to adapt. After five years the band disbanded in 2003.
A year hiatus, led him to his next band known as "Charlie Good Time". Which was a rock band playing classic rock and new hits of the time. This then led Johnny to play guitar for Nashville Phenom Brynn Marie. An amazing country singer originally from Carmichaels, PA. Johnny had the opportunity to open for the like of Loretta Lynn, Joe Nichols, Mark Wills, to name a few. It was a really cool experience and a learning experience. With all those accolades behind him, Johnny looks to put his mark on the music world.
Influenced by the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Roy Buchannan, Vince Gill, Eric Johnson, Brent Mason, and Danny Gatton. These players have really helped Johnny hone his craft. Johnny audiences love his progressive blues which is a stew of blues, rock, and country music flavored with jazz, simmered over hot coals. Johnny's explosive guitar playing and stellar vocals are without a doubt crowd pleasers.
So if you love to hear intense blues guitar playing??? Or like to hear chicken pickin' country??? Or if you are a guitar music lover in general??? Angry Johnny Stangry is a must see guitarist!!!
