After the Fall
After the Fall is a nearly literal moniker for the Albany, New York, punk band. Vocalist/guitarist and leading man Mike Moak, along with fellow guitarist Tyler, had a band called Downfall in the late '90s as fresh-faced teenagers. "We were super young and I didn't even have a license yet," Moak recalls. "But we opened a bunch of cool, really big shows in Albany: Hot Water Music, Rise Against, Thursday, typically shows like that. Being a freshman in high school it was an awesome experience."

This likely instilled some early confidence in Moak and his high school punk friends, even as Downfall began to splinter and half the band moved onto other projects. Moak and Tyler recruited friends made while playing in Downfall, and After the Fall thus emerged in 2000. 15 years later, their musical style may have changed some, but their mission statement is the same as it was back then: "just to have fun with your friends and make music," Moak says simply. Musically, "at first we were really into more technical guitars and metalcore-ish riffs. We focused a little bit more on that and would scream over that stuff. But we grew up on pop-punk and punk, so we slowly stopped doing as much metal and hardcore-influenced stuff and became more fast-paced and melodic."

That developed style was just about in place by the time the band saved enough money in 2005 to make their first full-length, Everything, littered with cheeky Descendents song title references and recorded at the illustrious Blasting Room Studios in Fort Collins, Colorado. Everything was the beginning of a long journey that found a quartet (sometimes trio) of people juggling real-life responsibilities with a band who were getting offers from increasingly bigger record labels and, especially, often afforded cool, international touring opportunities. "We would just do four-to-six-day runs with our friends' bands and then go abroad as much as we could because it was more lucrative and fun for us to plan trips to Australia or Europe or Costa Rica," Moak says. "We would never have that opportunity without the band, and we had to kind of jump on it while the offers were there."

As the band took the advantage of seeing the world and putting out albums on European labels and noted American indies like Animal Style, Mightier Than Sword, and Paper + Plastick, they also carried a lyrical perspective that changed from one album to the next that began with a bed of profound inspirations. "When we did start, [founding bassist] Brian [J. Peters] was a huge Propagandhi/Bad Religion fan," Moak remembers. "Me and him went to see Howard Zinn speak in Albany. All our original songs were all political and we never wanted to have any other songs about girls or anything else," he says, laughing. "But the older we got, the harder it was to relate to everything the same."

Thus, the band's full-lengths all seem to carry their own interesting lyrical identity. 2010's Eradication had that sociopolitical bent, addressing plenty of varied but largely twisted parts of modern society and culture; 2013's Unkind offered a bitter "fuck you" to a number of different parties in Moak's life at the time; and their far more reflective Dedication, their newest album and Bridge Nine debut, is entirely an ode to Peters, who sadly passed away in 2013 after a battle with cancer. "Without him our band would not exist," Moak said at the time. "He truly was an amazing person and friend, and an inspiration to us all."

Dedication found the band back at the Blasting Room for the first time since Everything, but this time as a hyper-focused, tightly rehearsed band writing and playing their most melodic and concise yet compelling and memorable material to date. "That's what was the best thing about this record: We didn't rush, we were so well-prepared and practiced it front-to-back for months," Moak says about Dedication, beaming.

Now with Bridge Nine behind them and the band intent on getting out on longer and bigger U.S. tours than they've ever been on, Moak agrees that he feels there's a second wind carrying After the Fall--or maybe even a third or fourth one, given their growing and storied history. "Dedication and its recording, it brought us back to life," he says. "Our drummer was going through a divorce and had to move. I had to move to a new place as well, and a bunch of stuff in our personal lives was going on, and the band started to feel a little stale until we were in Colorado and the vibe completely changed as soon as we were there. And it's stayed really positive and awesome ever since."

Navy Seal, Phillip Broussard looses his faith in music and finds it again in the most unlikely of places

October 2, 2017 - SEATTLE, WA - Born and raised in Washington State, Phillip Broussard discovered his passion early in life, when his father brought home a guitar. His father's original intention was to play the guitar himself, but he soon found Phillip picking up the guitar, when he didn't think anyone was watching. Phillip grew up under the influence of his father's favorites, Pink Floyd, James Taylor, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton. What started as just a few chords, ignited a desire to share his new found passion with the world.

Then, tragedy struck at 18 years old, when Phillip's father, grandfather and uncle passed away within 6 months of each other.

Phillip put down his guitar and enlisted in the United States Navy, in an attempt to quell his grief. Early on in his Naval career, someone handed Phillip a copy of John Mayer's cd, "Room for Squares". This album reignited Phillip's passion for the guitar. In 2007,  Phillip deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. During this time, he refined his guitar skills...

Now, MTS Management Group is pleased to announce Phillip Broussard has signed with them for publicity and promotions of his forthcoming debut EP, "Wavelength." The five-song acoustic blues-pop EP is scheduled for worldwide release on November 18th, Phillip's dad's birthday. The first single and lyric video will be "Just Wanna Believe."

"I am so excited about this artist," said Michael Stover of MTS. "Phillip's songs and melodies are so hauntingly beautiful.  The lyrics grab you from the start and don't let go until they've wrung every emotion from your soul.  I'm honored to be working with not only an incredible talent, but also a US veteran.  Welcome to the MTS Family, Phillip!"

Phillip Broussard is managed by Andrea Wong.

Learning guitar out of necessity, Michael David Miller finds his place in the universe with soul touching melodies

Treading Paper is the solo project of Michael David Miller from Dayton, Ohio. Influenced by a mixture of punk and indie bands like Thrice, Manchester Orchestra, Bouncing Souls, Operation Ivy, and more. He just released his first Album on June 13th 2017 entitled Comfort Zones.
Michael started playing music early on in his life starting with drums. In High school he decided to explore his love for Punk Rock by starting a band with good friend Alex Boeckman. They went on to start Conflict Theory and Michael switched to Guitar and Lead Vocalist and had Logan Mckenzie replace him on Drums. They went on to play shows and record music for about 2 ½ years. After the band broke up Michael started the early stages of what would become Treading Paper writing songs based off Life experiences. Now after having released his first album, he plans on building his fan base through social media and of course releasing more music.

Michael is currently working on getting Treading Paper’s first album proper exposure and also plans on recording an EP album later this year

Matt Westin leaves a lucrative engineering career to pursue his Passion for Music

Matt Westin was born and raised in a blue collar family in a middle class suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. From a young age, he pursued various passions, including academics, sports, acting, and music. After years of searching, Matt found true fulfillment in the creative outlets of acting and singing, dedicating himself to his artistic pursuits, and walking away from a promising career in engineering. With the influences of many legendary artists, ranging from Johnny Cash to Garth Brooks, “all the way” to Frank Sinatra, Matt found his voice. The thrill of live performance fed his desires, as he honed his vocal ability in bars and clubs around Pittsburgh for over a decade. His obvious drive and talent quickly won over his family's initial disapproval of his walking away from an engineering career, and they became his biggest supporters.

Tragically, after a bravely fought battle with Leukemia, Matt's father succumbed to complications of chemotherapy, in April 2016. As a true family man, Matt was utterly devastated and struggled day to day with the reality of his father's death. After months of depression, instead of self-destructing, Matt decided to honor his father's memory, by finally pursuing his music career, as his father had encouraged.

Deciding to make a country record in his father's honor, and being introduced by a mutual friend, to world-class musician/songwriter/producer Bryan Cole, the stage was set. Bryan took on the project as producer, believing in his talent and vision, and guiding Matt in making a first-class country record. Bryan recruited long-time friend and mix engineer, Doug Kasper to record and mix the record at nearby Tonic Recording Studios. With radio-ready songs, legendary musicians Mike Brignardello (Big & Rich, Blake Shelton, bass) and Steve Hinson (Dolly Parton, Luke Bryan, steel guitar), and an amazing up- and-coming musician, Adam Ernst, Matt dedicated an entire year to making the record he and his father would be proud of.

Hard Rock and Metal's Greatest Acoustic Moments!

Not all great hard rock and metal relies on blazing electric guitars. This week the Loudini Hard Rock & Metal Circus asks, "What are the Greatest Hard Rock and Metal Tracks that Feature Acoustic Guitars?" All this and Lou and Lily welcome back Keith "the hawk" Hawkins!  Featured Loudini Artists:   Butcher Babies   Soen   Hand of Dimes

Butcher Babies
http://www.butcherbabiesofficial.com/
For nearly a decade, Butcher Babies have been crushing stages worldwide with their vicious live performance and explosive energy. Their stage presence is a hypnotic spectacle that leaves audiences hungry for more. Frontwomen Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey, guitarist Henry Flury, bassist Jason Klein and drummer Chase Brickenden juxtapose brutal, aggressive riffs with beautiful melodies that wail with emotional redemption.

Hailing from the City Of Angels, Butcher Babies aided in the jubilant revival of the Metal scene on the Sunset Strip. While gaining attention from several record labels the band signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records in December 2012. Less than a year later, July 2013, they released their debut album GOLIATH, produced by Josh Wilbur (Gojira, Lamb of God, Hatebreed). Followed by their highly anticipated sophomore headbanger, TAKE IT LIKE A MAN, August 2015, produced by Logan Mader (FFDP, Gojira, Soulfly).
The evolution continues as the band is set to release their third full studio album, October 27, 2017, LILITH, produced by Steve Evetts (Suicide Silence, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Cure). With three albums and two EPs under their belt, Butcher Babies have reached a new level of maturity solidifying a triumphant return after a brief creative hiatus to write and rebuild. LILITH opens with a kick right to the teeth with the aggressive Burn the Straw Man, then drips with sensuality on tracks like Headspin and The Huntsman, pairing riveting guitars with velvet vocal harmonies. This album runs the gamut between exploring the dark roots of lust and the high energy thrash hijinks that Butcher Babies have become known and loved for.
Butcher Babies have toured relentlessly among the likes of Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Five Finger Death Punch, Danzig, In This Moment, Cradle of Filth, Black Label Society, etc; played music fests including Mayhem, Download (UK), Hellfest (France), Knotfest (US & Japan), Hell and Heaven(Mexico), Rock on The Range, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, Welcome to Rockville, etc. and appeared in the film Alleluia! : The Devils Carnival.

Soen
http://soenmusic.com/
When Swedish drummer Martin Lopez (ex-OPETH, AMON AMARTH) joined forces with metal bassist extraordinaire Steve DiGiorgio (SADUS, TESTAMENT, DEATH, ICED EARTH), vocalist Joel Ekelöf and guitarist Kim Platbarzdis in a brand new project called SOEN, it was obvious that this collaboration would not be just another name-dropping, substance-deprived “super project”.
Martin Lopez has described the band's music as "melodic, heavy, intricate and different." Even then, Lopez may be selling his band short. SOEN is, in a word, unique.
The foursome paint their musical canvas with broad strokes that on first listen may appear gray and sullen, but the true power of the music lies clandestine, just a little below the monochrome surface. More than just a sum of is rather esteemed parts, SOEN weave an intricate network of melodies and lull the listener submerged in a bliss of melancholy. Yes, at times Soen may resemble the Opeth of old, but it makes more of less, as it features none of the guttural vocals and full-on death metal wall of sound of Lopez' former group. But nothing more is needed when Ekelöf's somber voice, Platbarzdis's transcendent guitar work, Lopez's trademark drum beats and DiGiorgio's exquisite bass lines collaborate to build a pensive tide, just waiting to wash over you.
“Cognitive” sure isn't an instantaneously accessible album but with a bit of listener patience, it can prove to be one of the most rewarding pieces of “thinking man's metal” you will ever come across. In a world full of super-compressed albums waging the loudness war, “Cognitive” breathes with ease thanks to the masterful mixing work of David Bottrill (Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Muse etc.). Like rain on a windowpane; translucent and free of form, “Cognitive” breathes like a living entity.
The colors are there, lingering within the grays. It's just up to you to find them.

Hand of Dimes
http://www.handofdimes.com/
HAND OF DIMES is the reunion of former SKIN singer and front man Neville MacDonald and keyboard player Neil Garland. Their friendship and song writing partnership goes back 30 years to the days when they were both part of the Welsh Rock Band KOOGA.
Their critically acclaimed Across The Water album was released in 1986 and was recently featured in Classic Rock Magazines list of 250 vinyl albums  you must own. Sell out gigs at the legendary Marquee Club secured them a place at the Reading Rock Festival in 1987 alongside Alice Cooper and Status Quo. Despite this initial rise, the band were unable to secure a major deal and after several line-up changes, the band split in 1989.
Having written songs with guitarist Robbie Blunt (Robert Plant Band) following the split, Nev’s yearning was for more gutsy rock and roll, so the invitation to form SKIN with guitarist Myke Gray was a no-brainer…..Nev enjoyed success with SKIN in the mid 90’s following the release of their debut album. Produced in America by Keith Olsen the album reached No 9 in the charts and boasted two Top 20 singles which led to appearances on Top of the Pops.
Appearance at the ‘94 Monsters of Rock Festival, support gigs in the UK and around Europe with Bruce Dickinson, Whitesnake, and Thunder helped SKIN to become a band that people took notice of, their consistent live show performances becoming their trademark. After Download appearances with Skin in 2009/2010 which ended an eleven year break from the music business Nev was ready to rekindle his song writing partnership with Neil.
Still armed with a ‘full set of pipes’ and a selection of rough ideas he’d accumulated over the years, he approached Neil to see if they could revive the working relationship they enjoyed so many years earlier.Nev has gained the respect and admiration for his vocals from all areas within the music business and evidence of that comes in the many offers he has received over the years to front different musical projects.  He has been lucky enough to perform alongside:-
 Robert Plant (with the Honeydrippers)
Paul Rodgers and Brian May  at the(Gibson 50th Anniversary Concert)
Madeleine Bell (on Skin’s debut album)
He was recently asked to join guitarist Bernie Marsden at a gig in 2016 to play a set of Whitesnake songs, an honour by any standard.
Of course, Neil shares the 80’s acclaim of KOOGA with Nev. As co-writer of some of the best songs on the album, his song writing capabilities came to the fore just prior to its recording. His lyrical ideas began to make their mark with songs like ‘Lifeline’and the immense ‘Gabrielle’, and his ear for a good melody made the connection with Nev complete.
They wrote instinctively and HAND OF DIMES has picked up where they left off. Their debut album “RAISE” is full of soulful melodic rock which packs a serious punch. With the powerful and emotional vocal drive which has become Nev’s unmistakable trademark the blend of electric and acoustic material has a wide range of influences. Strong melodic songs with lyrical weight are underpinned with a more Blues Rock style than either SKIN or KOOGA and are complimented by their solid rhythm section in Mark Maybry (Bass), David Stephenson (Drums) and the subtle tones of Lead guitarist Colin Edwards.
“The new songs have come from the right place at a time of reconciliation, reflection, shared vision and trust in that song writing instinct”.
Supports with FM , Wishbone Ash, The Union and appearances at  The Steelhouse Festival, Hard Rock Hell Festival, and Planet Rock Winter’s End Festival have seen an  enthusiastic response from audiences all around the UK.
Two Appearances with Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden over a weekend at The Steelhouse Festival in 2017 playing both their own material and a selection Whitesnake songs has put them firmly on the classic rock map.
Nev MacDonald  -     Lead Vocals & Guitar
Neil Garland            -  Keyboards & Harmonica
Colin Edwards         -  Lead Guitar

Cloud Catcher
https://cloud-catcher.bandcamp.com/
"With its gnarly odes to voodoo children and celestial empresses, Trails of Kozmic Dust finds Colorado’s Cloud Catcher settling further into their swampy, vintage sound. These eight slices of bluesy psych-rock capture heavy metal at its most classic. With a record store’s worth of riffs at his disposal, vocalist and guitarist Rory Rummings’ extended solos—equal parts cosmic grandeur and classic rock worship—are the record’s highlight. The whole album serves as a reminder that space might represent our projections of the future, but it’s been there long before any of us. “We’ll leave this world far behind/Believer in ancient times,” Rummings sings optimistically in closing track “Righteous Ruler.” And just like that, the great unknown feels a bit more familiar." - PITCHFORK

"Trails of Kozmic Dust feels like the output of a band that’s survived decades (and multiple musical trends) together, yet it’s only Cloud Catcher’s second album since forming in 2013. They already get it. Clearly, the next step should be a co-headlining tour with Earthless to completely disintegrate what’s left of our brains." - INVISIBLE ORANGES

Firewind

Time to wake the sleeping giant...
It’s been four years since Firewind released their critically acclaimed seventh album ‘Few Against Many’ but in that time the band and it’s various members have all been extremely busy. Main man Gus G. has released not one, but two solo albums, toured in support of both of them and hit the road once again with the ‘Prince of Darkness’, Ozzy Osbourne. His fellow Firewind band mates have also been far from idle too; but despite the prolonged break in activities Firewind was always going to return and 2016 will see the band back and blasting on all cylinders!
The band will return with live activities and a new singer. Henning Basse, a long time friend and collaborator of Gus’ is the man trusted to bring Firewind back to the masses. His rich, classic rock referencing vocals are the perfect foil for the wealth of material the band have been working on and he brings a reinvigorated power to the band.
Firewind return with a string of dates throughout 2016 as they prepare their brand new studio album.

Influences
Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Dream Theater, Gary Moore, Metallica and many more!
